"FAITH ON THE MARGINS"

Exploring theology, Childhood, and Christian Witness in Overlooked Places.

Hi, I'm Samaila Ayuba

Faith on the margins is committed to exploring how theology is lived out among overlooked spaces. I’m especially drawn to the voices we too often ignore: Children asking honest questions about God, minority Christian communities quietly persevering in hostile contexts, and believers navigating faith in places shaped by poverty, pluralism, and postcolonial wounds. I believe these voices will enrich the Christian tradition and help us see how God is also at work on the margins. I’ve spent the last few years living, serving, and studying at these intersections. I’ve served as an intern, youth, and children’s Pastor in Nigeria and the U.S. I hold a B.A. in Systematic Theology from ECWA Theological Seminary, Kagoro, an MTS in History and Ecumenism from Princeton Theological Seminary, and I’m currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mission Studies and World Christianity at Boston University School of Theology. My academic research and ministry work both explore how theology takes shape through Childhood faith, minority witness, and the everyday struggles of overlooked communities.

I write and teach about faith among overlooked communities.

I’ve served as a youth and children’s pastor in Nigeria and the U.S. and my academic research examines how voices from the margins—often ignored—can enrich and challenge the global church.

This journey has taken me from the pulpit to the classroom:

  • B.A. Systematic Theology – ECWA Theological Seminary, Kagoro
  • MTS History & Ecumenism – Princeton Theological Seminary
  • Ph.D. (in progress) – Mission Studies & World Christianity, Boston University

The African Church and COVID-19: Human Security, the Church, and Society in Kenya

In this timely and multi-disciplinary volume, scholars and practitioners reflect on the Church’s role in addressing crises exposed by the pandemic—mental health, gender-based violence, environmental justice, and economic inequality. The editors challenge Western models of evangelism, calling instead for African agency and collaboration.

Faith on the Margins

There is a richer, more listening, and more faithful way for the church to live out the gospel—one that attends to children's voices, minority perseverance, and communities shaped by struggle. This is where God's presence disrupts and renews.
